Privacy Policy — Ninefold for Android

Ninefold is a Sudoku game with optional purchases. No account is required. We do not display ads or use advertising identifiers. Puzzle saves stay on your device; Google Play and RevenueCat process purchases. If you use Play Games, Hell scores and player information are processed by Google for leaderboards.

Who operates Ninefold

Ninefold is developed and operated by Liang Lu (鲁亮), under the Gentleflow brand. Contact gentleflowoverseas@gmail.com for privacy questions or data requests.

Game data on your device

Puzzles, notes, progress, completion history, statistics, achievements and settings are stored in the app’s private storage. Ninefold does not upload this gameplay data to a developer-operated cloud service. Android may include eligible app data in system backup or device transfer if you enable those features. These are controlled by your device settings and the platform’s policies.

Google Play Games leaderboards (version code 14 onward)

Hell mode uses Google Play Games Services. Google may sign you in automatically according to your Play Games settings. When signed in, completed-floor and final-run scores are submitted with the reached floor, best combo, flawless-run indicator and a country/region code derived from the device locale; this code is not GPS location. Google associates these with your game-specific player identity. The leaderboard shows rank, display name, score, floor and region flag subject to your Play Games profile visibility. We do not obtain your Google password or email address through the leaderboard.

The friends board uses Play Games friend identities and display names only for this feature, after platform authorization; it does not read your device address book. You can decline that permission and continue playing. Pending scores and their owning player ID are stored locally for offline retry and are excluded from app backup. Google also processes SDK usage analytics and diagnostics for reliability and product improvement. We do not use leaderboard or friends data for advertising. Google processes these data under its privacy policy and encrypts transmission.

Manage game sign-in, profile visibility and friends access in Play Games settings. You can delete Ninefold game data through your Play Games profile or Google Account controls. Clearing local app data does not delete scores already stored by Google. Deleting Google game data does not cancel a Play subscription. Ordinary Sudoku play remains available without connecting to Play Games.

Purchases and RevenueCat

Google Play handles payment, subscriptions and refunds. We do not receive your card number, payment password or Google account credentials. Ninefold uses RevenueCat to verify purchases, restore access, maintain Premium entitlements and analyze subscription performance. This involves purchase history, product and transaction identifiers, purchase tokens, subscription status and dates, store/currency information, an app-generated anonymous customer identifier, and technical information such as app/SDK version and operating system needed to provide the service. Purchase information is processed even though no Ninefold account is required. Legacy Android builds (version code 7 and earlier) included optional complimentary access codes: entering a code derived an opaque identifier that was sent to RevenueCat to verify the granted entitlement; the code itself was not stored. This feature is removed from version code 8 onward. These newer builds use the standard Google Play purchase and restore flow.

RevenueCat acts as our service provider. Data is transmitted using encryption in transit and may be processed outside your country, including in the United States. We do not sell personal data, use purchases for targeted advertising or collect advertising identifiers. We do not integrate a separate advertising, behavioral analytics or crash-reporting SDK.

Age signals and family controls (Android version code 10 onward)

In supported Google Play regions, the app requests access to the age-range information that Google Play makes available under the user’s or parent’s sharing settings. Google Play manages any sharing or verification prompt. We process the returned age range and approval status only in memory to support age-appropriate access. We do not save these signals, send them to RevenueCat, or use them for advertising, marketing, profiling or analytics. Declining optional sharing does not itself prevent free puzzle play. If Google Play reports required age verification or pending/declined parental approval, new purchases remain unavailable until that status is resolved. Purchase restoration remains available.

Ninefold has no in-app user chat, user-generated content, advertising or loot boxes. The same puzzle content and privacy protections apply to all age groups. Parents can manage app access, screen time and purchase approvals through Google Family Link. For child-safety concerns, contact our support email; you do not need to provide a child’s identity document. Family safety information in Portuguese.

Optional actions and permissions

• Internet access supports Play Games leaderboards, store products, purchase verification, restoration and external links.
• Notifications, if enabled, are scheduled locally. You can turn them off in Android settings.
• Vibration follows your preferences. Sharing a result sends the poster to the app you choose through Android’s share sheet.
• If you email support, we receive the address and information you choose to send and use them to respond. External websites and apps apply their own policies.

Retention, deletion and your choices

You can reset gameplay in the app or clear app data in Android settings to remove local information. Uninstalling removes local app storage; system backups are managed separately in your device/account settings. To request access, correction or deletion of purchase-related data held on our behalf by RevenueCat, email gentleflowoverseas@gmail.com. Include enough information to locate your purchase, such as a Google Play order number; never send payment passwords or full card details. We may verify your request and retain records required for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention or dispute purposes. We retain support correspondence only as needed to resolve the request and meet these obligations.

Deleting app data or requesting data deletion does not cancel a Google Play subscription. Manage or cancel subscriptions in Google Play. A later purchase or restore may recreate information necessary to validate your entitlement. Rights and response requirements depend on your location; you may contact your local data protection authority.

Children and policy updates

Ninefold is a general-audience puzzle game and does not request children’s personal information. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can address it. We will update this page when our practices change and show the effective date above.
